Revised:Feb 2008
Our thanks to those who responded to our original quest to set guidelines to promote Irish
heritage, culture, and ultimately an interest in our society. They got it started and we
are thankful for their work.
Our primary focus is to promote awareness and appreciation for the contributions of the
Irish to the United States, to Texas, and to San Antonio. For this reason the Irish Cultural
Society (ICS) scholarship will target students interested in Irish culture and heritage.
- These guidelines are not rules; they are guides. These guidelines may be revised
at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee Chairperson.
-

The scholarship is now considered an annual event.
-
The purpose of the scholarship is to further education of high school level seniors
who have an intent to attend college.
-
The Scholarship Committee is established in the constitution.
The Chairperson is elected to manage the operation of the scholarship fund as
provided in the Irish Cultural Society's bylaws.
