IRISH CULTURAL SOCIETY MEETING - April 30th, 2006
President Lou Kelley opened the meeting at 2:45 pm, followed by SisterCarmel's invocation. Lou suggested that we delay the business meeting
until Maureen Halligan's presentation, and the members agreed.
Maureen Halligan spoke of her history in the theater, in England,
Ireland, and the United States. She had a number of interesting stories
and amusing anecdotes to share with us all. The audience seemed to enjoy
her talk very much. The reception, complete with red roses, birthday
cake and champagne to celebrate Maureen Halligan's upcoming birthday,
was also an opportunity for individuals to speak with our guest.
Following the reception, there was a very brief business meeting.
A motion was made and seconded to forego the reading of the treasurer's
report and the previous month's minutes, and we adjourned at 4pm.
