IRISH CULTURAL SOCIETY MEETING - November 25, 2007 The meeting of the Irish Cultural Society was called to order byGene Logan, President, at 3:20 PM. The previous meeting’s minutes were read by Susan Feely. The minutes were accepted as read. The treasures, Bob Barron, reports a balance of $6,704.07. Kay Delaney, Membership chairman, reports that a new membership directory will be compiled in January. Also three visitors are present at today’s meeting. She also reminded members that dues need to be paid NOW. Rosemary Villanueva-Delaney has a conflict on Sunday afternoons and suggests that a new Program and Plan chairman be chosen. There were no other committee reports. The Christmas Party is now scheduled for January 4,2008 at Ft. Sam Houston Golf Club at a cost of $22.00 per person. There will be no regular ICS meeting in December. The January meeting will feature the SA Pipes and Drums. The February meeting will be a talk by John F. Burke, Professor of Political Science at St. Thomas University. Irish Heritage Day will be March 9. A speaker is booked for April. Brenda Tobey, Public Relations committee, needs help with fliers for Irish Heritage Day. New business was a discussion of how to attract new members. No conclusions were reached. Also, how to raise money for stipends for speakers was discussed. One suggestion was to set up a contribution box. The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM. A musical program was presented by Jim Fox.
